JOHN GALLIANO - Denim: Rubber Logo Tags

Galliano jeans have a tan rubber label stitched into the inside of the waistband at the center of the back. The fake labels can vary in quality from very poor copies to rather authentic-looking 'replicas.' With the more exact copies the secret is in the font. The fake font is usually a little taller, as if it had been stretched vertically just a hair. It is a very subtle difference, but noticeable when compared to an authentic one. You can see this in the comparison below. For another close up comparison example visit the "Rubber Logo Tags" article in the shirts section of the Galliano drop-down menu, or click here.

The tags are made of a light tan rubber with no shine to it.

Now, in this example the tag is the wrong shape for jeans. Galliano does have bigger tags that are shaped similar to the fake one here, but they are used in jackets and coats, not jeans. The other detail to note is that the authentic John Galliano tags have the black lettering inset in the rubber. There is a small indented space around the black letters as if they were inlayed in the label. If you click and enlarge the example you can see the letters on this fake tag are simply printed on, and the whole thing is flat (though many of the fakes do have the embossed lettering too).
